Rey Mysterio Injury Update | If He’ll Compete At WrestleMania 35

According to Dave Meltzer at the Wrestling Observer, the match between Rey Mysterio and Samoa Joe for the United States Championship at WrestleMania 35 will take place as scheduled.

Mysterio had previously suffered an ankle injury on this week’s edition of Monday Night RAW in a match with Baron Corbin. He was scheduled to face Andrade on the following SmackDown, in a match that was originally scheduled for the Mania card, but that did not occur. Despite things looking serious for a bit, Rey was reportedly walking around fine on Thursday night and should be good to go on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

As for the match itself, we do know that WWE has hinted that Rey’s son Dominic could become involved in some capacity. First appearing on WWE TV over a decade ago as a child, Dominic is now trained in professional wrestling and has appeared in promos leading up to the match. He will be ringside for his father’s title match come Sunday.
