Bully Ray Talks Kofi Kingston Losing WWE Fastlane Main Event, Details Path To WrestleMania 35

During last night’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Vince McMahon shocked the crowd by announcing that Kofi Kingston was out of the main event against Daniel Bryan at WWE Fastlane. Challenging for the WWE Championship in his place was the returning former Universal Champion Kevin Owens. On today’s episode of SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray broke down the situation.

“I’m not necessarily sure they’re going [with Kofi Kingston challenging Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35], but the path that I can see Kofi taking is this,” explained Bully Ray, who thinks an authority struggle will happen. “Did you watch the reactions on Stephanie and Shane’s faces when Vince came out and basically just took their contract signing and flushed it down the toilet to do what he wanted to do?”

He then tied it into the recent RAW angle with Becky Lynch. “If you remember a couple of weeks ago it was Triple H and Stephanie that had the face-to-face with Becky and were very nice. The said, ‘Listen, we’re sorry. We’re apologizing to you. Please apologize to us and you’re back into WrestleMania. We got that moment and then Vince came out, and then he trumped Triple H and Stephanie. A month ago we saw the whole family say that the McMahons were taking back control and that everything would go right. Hunter and Stephanie gave the WWE Universe Becky Lynch back and Vince took it away. Last night, Shane and Steph gave Kofi Kingston [a title shot] and Vince took it away. The path for Kofi is through Shane and Stephanie and that could lead to a whole hullabaloo within the McMahon family.”
