Netflix has officially approved another season of its popular supernatural TV show, making Halloween even more special. Created by Matt Roller, the show continues the story set in Undervale with a third chapter.
On Friday, Netflix announced that Haunted Hotel has been renewed for Season 3, which is scheduled for release in 2027. This renewal comes after a successful run for the series, with Season 2 debuting on the streamer’s Global English TV Top 10 list.
According to Netflix, the first season, which consisted of 10 episodes, has accumulated more than 15 million views since its release. The second season premiered on October 9, 2026, featuring eight episodes. As of writing, the second installment holds a perfect 100% approval rating from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
Haunted Hotel has plenty more ghostly stories planned for Season 3
While the exact plot details remain under wraps, Roller’s comments suggest that the new episodes will go bigger and deliver a wide mix of stories. He said, “I’m so excited to invite viewers back to the Undervale! Season three is full of the biggest, funniest, scariest, saddest, and Abaddoniest stories we’ve ever told, and I can’t wait for everyone to see them. Candles!”
The new season was already underway before receiving official approval. In a recent interview, Roller mentioned that the writers’ room had completed all the scripts for a potential third season. He described the new storylines as strong and said that Season 3 would build on the foundations set by Season 2, which in turn expanded on the first season.
The voice cast includes Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, Skyler Gisondo, Natalie Palamides, and Jimmi Simpson. In addition to creating, Roller also serves as an executive producer alongside Chris McKenna, Dan Harmon, Steve Levy, and others. Titmouse will return as the animation studio.
Haunted Hotel Season 3 is expected to arrive in 2027, though an official premiere date is yet to be announced.
