Zachary Levi is all set to star in a faith-based comedy series from Angel. He will be joined by Parks and Recreation alum Jim O’Heir. Titled Shelf Life, the show is created by Brian Cates, with Milk and Honey Productions serving as the production house.
The show, as reported by Deadline, follows a pastor who has been thrown out of his pulpit. When he lands a job in a grocery store, he finds himself using his wisdom and maturity to help his co-workers, who are dealing with various issues in their lives.
Speaking about the show’s vision and what it hopes to achieve, Cates said, “I’ve spent twenty years working in the faith and comedy space, and my belief hasn’t changed: if you make people laugh, you can make people listen. That’s the heart of what we’re doing with Shelf Life. Humor has a way of lowering our defenses and creating space for conversations about the things that actually matter.”
Levi also talked about what the show meant to him, saying, “I’m thrilled to be part of a show that brings together such a compelling mix of characters and finds the humor, heart, and humanity in their stories, creating something audiences can see themselves in, connect with, and keep coming back for.”
What else has Zachary Levi been in since the DCEU Shazam! franchise ended?

He has also appeared in projects such as Harold and the Purple Crayon, The Unbreakable Boy, Not Without Hope, Sarah’s Oil, and, more recently, The Fix and Angel and the Badman. Levi is also set to star in Angel’s upcoming animated series, Gabriel and the Guardians, which does not yet have a confirmed release date.
