RJ Mitte’s Mom Shares Heartbreaking Tribute to Breaking Bad Star: ‘We Are Lost’

Breaking Bad star RJ Mitte‘s mom has shared an emotional message on Instagram, reflecting on his life and the impact he had on others. The actor died by suicide earlier this month at the age of 34. His mother, Dyna, shared the tribute on Monday alongside a photo of the two of them.

Dyna called RJ her “precious child,” recalling that he was just three days old when the family welcomed him. “He has been inspiring and sharing his heart with everyone he met,” she wrote. She described life with RJ as a “constant adventure” and also remembered how he made work trips fun. They traveled from Florida to Lithuania, exploring historical sites along the way to satisfy his “neverending curiosity.”

“We are lost without him, yet we know he wouldn’t want us to be,” Dyna wrote in her caption. RJ’s sister, Lacianne Carriere, also paid tribute on Instagram over the weekend. “There are just no words,” the 22-year-old wrote.

Dyna expressed pride in how much RJ had overcome, both personally and professionally. “I can never express how proud I was,” she wrote, reflecting on his journey with cerebral palsy and his growth as an actor. His mother noted that he was always ready to take on new challenges and worked hard to manage his disability while building his career.

She noted that he developed “a deep empathy” for others and viewed advocacy not as a burden but as “a role he loved to play.” She also said RJ would want his message to live on and the work of The Mitte Foundation in Brownsville to continue. The actor’s mother thanked those who had reached out to share their memories of RJ.

RJ Mitte was best known for playing Walter White Jr. on the AMC series Breaking Bad from 2008 to 2013.
