NBC’s new comedy show Newlyweds has unveiled a new trailer. The preview teases an exciting joyride starring real-life married actors Téa Leoni and Tim Daly, alongside Jamie Lee Curtis.
Newlyweds premieres Friday, October 23 at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC and on Peacock the following day. Co-created by Curtis and Gail Lerner, who also executive produce, the series follows the later-in-life love story of Jeanie (Leoni) and James (Daly), who hastily tie the knot after a whirlwind romance. The couple must now navigate each other’s eccentric families.

What happens in the Newlyweds trailer?
The Newlyweds trailer opens with the leading couple, Jeanie and James, meeting at a bar. After a brief courtship, the lovebirds decide to make it official, saying “I do” at a rock-climbing gym with photos of their wedding day appearing on screen soon after.
The trailer then introduces Jamie Lee Curtis as James’ crazy ex-wife, Claudia. In one funny scene, Claudia sneakily appears behind Jeanie to freak her out. As the newlywed couple settles in, they must also learn to blend in with each other’s family members, including Jeanie’s young children Poppy and Lolo.
In another scene, Jeanie’s kids speculate if James is after her money. When she says she has none to chase after, Lolo hilariously says, “Are you after his money? Because his place is nice!”
The preview then features a montage of some of the most hilarious and heartfelt moments from the upcoming series.
Star Tim Daly discussed the premise of Newlyweds in a recent interview. “They get married without really knowing each other,” the actor told TV Insider in September 2026. “They’re of a certain age, so they have ways that they’re set in. She has two crazy kids. I’ve got a crazy ex-wife. And there’s James’ assistant who hovers over and insinuates himself into their relationship.”
In addition to Leoni, Daly, and Curtis, Newlyweds also stars Emma Meisel, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, Bill O’Neill, and Al Madrigal.
