Andrew Garfield Looks Unrecognizable as Iconic Magician Roy Horn in Wild Things Set Photos

Andrew Garfield looks unrecognizable in new set photos from Wild Things. The pictures show the actor completely transformed into the iconic magician Roy Horn for the upcoming limited drama series.

In the pictures shared by Andrew Garfield Central, he is seen sporting naturally grown-out long hair and a clean-shaven face. Garfield wears a wide-brimmed hat and a fringed purple scarf for his role as the illusionist for the upcoming Apple TV+ series.

Garfield stars alongside Jude Law, who portrays Siegfried Fischbacher. The project is an eight-episode biographical drama series based on the famous magician and illusionist duo Siegfried & Roy. It chronicles the duo’s meteoric rise to fame as they transformed Las Vegas into a family-friendly destination with their white tigers.

The story also explored the fine line between illusion and reality, eventually culminating in the tragic 2003 tiger attack that ended Horn’s career and the duo’s final performance.

What to know about Andrew Garfield’s role in Wild Things

In Wild Things, Garfield plays Roy Horn, the more enigmatic half of the famous magical duo Siegfried and Roy. The famed illusionist pair, best known for their show at the Mirage Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, first met in 1957 while working on a cruise ship.

It was there that Horn, Fischbacher’s assistant, suggested incorporating a cheetah into the act. Later on, the two went on a tour, performing in small clubs before getting their big break in a Paris casino in 1967. That’s when a producer in the audience invited them to Las Vegas to try out their material, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

As their success continued, the illusionists went on to open their famed Las Vegas show, “Siegfried & Roy at The Mirage,” in February 1990. The show ran until October 2003. However, their run unfortunately ended when Horn was attacked by a 600-lb. tiger named Montecore while he was on stage with Fischbacher. What’s worse is that the mauling took place on the Horn’s 59th birthday.

In 2009, the two performed together one last time. More than a decade later, Horn passed away due to complications from COVID-19 in 2020. Eight months later, Fischbacher died of pancreatic cancer in January 2021.

So far, very limited details have been made available by Apple TV about the miniseries, with no announcement of a premiere date.
