One of Hayden Panettiere’s directors has opened up about receiving an intervention request before the actress’s untimely death. The statement comes in as another instance of the Nashville star’s complications and struggles with addiction.
Griff Furst worked with Panettiere in one of her final movies. As the actress-singer passed away at 36 this Sunday, Furst had an important update to share. On his Instagram account, the director noted that after the project wrapped up, he was approached by Panettiere’s team to participate in an addiction intervention.
Furst said, “When we wrapped, however, I stayed in touch with her team. What eventually got determined was that she might need an intervention and I got asked to participate. I said yes, and that intervention did not happen, at least not that I’m aware of, and I wasn’t leading the charge on that, and it wouldn’t have been appropriate for me.”
The director also pointed out that he was well aware of the complications many child actors faced. And as Panettiere was put in front of the camera at a tender age of 11 months, Furst noted that he wanted her to overcome her addiction and come back to leading a normal life.
