FX’s upcoming crime drama series The Drop: A Snowfall Saga released its official trailer ahead of its premiere on FX and Hulu on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. This will be a direct spin-off to John Singleton’s hit flagship series Snowfall; the new chapter explores the aftermath of the epidemic.
The FX spin-off show is bringing back the characters of Wanda Bell and Leon Simmons. Gail Bean and Isaiah Jones will be reprising their roles for the upcoming series. The narrative of the series is set in 1990s Los Angeles and will track the events after John Singleton’s series.
Check out the trailer below:
In the show, Wanda Bell and Leon Simmons are trying to figure out life while recovering from the devastation of the crack epidemic. Bell wants to build a career in West Coast rap. She believes that the growing field would reshape America’s culture. Leon, on the other hand, is trying to move away from his past. Leaving the streets behind, he is running a free legal clinic. However, life soon gets complicated for the two.
Wanda’s music ambitions put her back in the crosshairs of L.A. street politics
The synopsis for the series, per IMDB, reads, “As 1990s LA shifts from crack to rap, gang territories controlled by Bloods and Crips become ground zero for an emerging music scene in South Central.”
In the upcoming crime drama series, while Wanda Bell will try to concentrate on her career in the music industry and Simmons will try to lead a clean life, politics and crime will again find a route to re-enter their lives.
Wanda sees hip-hop as a powerful source to change the culture of American society, but it is also heavily connected to crime and politics that would impact them. The storyline would revolve around how the two manage to hold on to their ambitions while trying to survive in the music industry.
The eight-episode series debuts on FX on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, with new episodes broadcasting weekly and streaming the following day on Hulu.
