Alexandra Daddario and Christopher Walken are teaming up for a new true-crime thriller. The upcoming film is based on the true story of a notorious bank robber.
According to Deadline, alongside Daddario and Walker, Taylor Kitsch has joined the cast of The Long Island Bank Robber. The true-crime thriller is based on the nonfiction book ‘Til Heist Do Us Part by Jeanne Callahan and Michael Harvey.
Matthew Gentile will direct the film from a screenplay he adapted and co-wrote with Bianca Vera. Production is scheduled to begin this month in New Jersey.

Taylor Kitsch’s new movie draws inspiration from an extraordinary true crime story
According to the official logline, The Long Island Bank Robber stars Kitsch as Stephen Trantel, “a successful Wall Street commodities trader. After being fired from his job, Stephen’s desperate attempts to keep his family afloat lead him down the unimaginable path of becoming one of Long Island’s most prolific bank robbers.”
Daddario will play Jeanne Trantel, Stephen’s discerning wife, who grows increasingly suspicious of her husband and wants to establish an independent life outside the home. Walken will play Stephen’s father, a retired police officer “with a strong ethical code.”
Director and co-writer Gentile discussed the upcoming film in a recent statement. “The Long Island Bank Robber is a true story I learned about in my youth, growing up in New York City as a true-crime obsessive,” he shared.
“A propulsive heist film on the surface, the story also tackles complex themes of grief, survival, and marriage. With Taylor, Alexandra, and Christopher as our three leads — I could not have dreamed of a better cast to bring this film to life,” Gentile added.
The Long Island Bank Robber is produced by Vince Jolivette and Richie Hill of Filmopoly, Chris Bellant of Vision Entertainment, and Danielle Gasher of Vaneast Pictures. Kitsch will also serve as an executive producer, alongside Andres Budnik, Liam Scholey, Raymond Kimsey, Matt Allen, Dan Reardon, Kyle Fox, Alan B. Bursteen, and Dawn Bursteen.
