Prince William Eyes New Role for Prince George Behind Palace Doors — Source

A school holiday is starting to look like an apprenticeship for Prince George, as Prince William is reportedly using his son’s time away from Eton to deepen his royal education. According to a source, the lessons are moving beyond history books and into the rooms where real decisions are made. It marks a notable step for a young heir who only began boarding in September.

Prince William wants Prince George ‘to sit in on some meetings’ and see how decisions are made, per source

A source told the National Examiner that Prince William sees the break from Eton College as a chance to focus on Prince George’s preparation. He has been teaching his eldest about his future role for years, the source said. Lately, though, there is a greater sense of urgency.

The Prince of Wales wants his son to understand what is happening within the family and the monarchy right now. That learning sits alongside his study of royal history. Meanwhile, King Charles continues to hand more responsibility to William, the source explained.

As a result, the 44-year-old has started involving George in discussions about current issues. He has also said he would like the teenager to sit in on some meetings during the holiday. The idea, according to the source, is for George to see firsthand how decisions are made. “George is apparently fascinated by it all,” the source added.

Meanwhile, George enrolled at Eton College in September as a first-time boarder, and the source insists his time off has not been all work and no play. For a 13-year-old settling into life away from home, that balance matters.

Kate Middleton is making sure there is still plenty of time for fun, the source said. She was reportedly eager to welcome her son home and spoil him a little. Separation is hard on parents too, and according to the source, Kate misses George terribly when he is away.

George’s two-week vacation ends on Sunday, November 8. Until then, William and Kate are, per the source, dividing the time between preparation and play.
