Other Mommy arrives on digital next week
Horror fans won’t have to wait much longer to catch Other Mommy at home. The film is scheduled to hit digital platforms on November 10, 2026.
Jessica Chastain takes on a challenging double role, playing both Ursula Martin and the sinister presence lurking behind the name Other Mommy. Rob Savage directs the 93-minute horror thriller, which brings Nathan Elston’s screenplay to life. The story draws inspiration from Josh Malerman’s bestselling novel Incidents Around the House.
At the heart of Other Mommy is Bela, an 8-year-old girl played by Arabella Olivia Clark, whose life takes a terrifying turn when something begins lurking inside her house. The entity looks and sounds just like her mother, but its growing hold over the family soon turns their home into a nightmare. Jay Duplass plays Bela’s father, with Dichen Lachman, Arian Moayed and Karen Allen rounding out the supporting cast.
Blumhouse and Atomic Monster joined forces to back the film, with Universal Pictures handling its theatrical release. Other Mommy first hit U.S. theaters on October 9, 2026, before hitting international markets. The film has struggled to impress critics, earning just 19% on Rotten Tomatoes. Its audience score sits at 48%. IMDb users have given it a 5.3/10 rating.
Fans liked Chastain’s performance as a bright spot but argue that the film’s inconsistent execution takes the bite out of its horror. Despite its mixed reception, the film has become a box-office winner. The horror film has pulled in around $108 million worldwide on a reported $19 million production budget.
