Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are allegedly “upset” over the bad blood between them and their new neighbors in Ohio. The couple, who tied the knot on July 3 at Madison Square Garden, are reportedly facing trouble developing their new mansion to ensure their safety.
Insider reveals Taylor Swift upset over friction with Ohio neighbors
Months into their newly married life, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are already facing a roadblock. According to a Heat World report published October 28, the couple is finding itself at odds with their would-be neighbors. As they are trying to secure their new $5.35m mansion in Bratenahl, a small village just outside Cleveland, longtime residents are pushing back on some of the plans.
Per planning requests, Swift and Kelce want a six-foot fence and a litany of towering trees around the property. However, some of the residents have contested parts of the planning. Over the past few weeks, they have called out the pair for disrupting “the peace and quiet in Bratenahl.”
“Taylor and Travis are genuinely very upset about this,” an insider told Heat World. “The last thing they wanted was to have any sort of friction with their neighbors.” They have reportedly gone to great lengths to keep their neighbors happy, even covering the costs of work that would typically be shared between neighboring homeowners.
The source added that Taylor would likely be willing to pay for any additional expenses her neighbors might incur because of the trees being planted on the couple’s property.
The source explained that besides fans, the couple also needs protection from stalkers and other such potential threats. This is why they reportedly need extra security measures. They continued, “It’s a little shocking to them that there’s no understanding of that – these changes aren’t cosmetic, they’re the difference between Taylor feeling safe in her home and being at risk.”
Further, the insider insisted that Swift would resell the property if it did not hold sentimental value for Kelce.
