Donald Trump has again unleashed an attack on Democrat and Minnesota representative Ilhan Omar and her birth country, Somalia. He made the remarks during an event at the Oval Office. The insults follow a raid that federal officials conducted on Omar’s Washington home on Monday, October 12.

Donald Trump recently spoke to reporters in the Oval Office and criticized Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar. He also went as far as to insult her birth country, Somalia.
During the interaction, reporters asked the President if Omar could be detained and deported back to Somalia. In his reply, Trump appeared to support the possibility and said, “Well, she could be. She could also go to jail. You know, they keep talking about deportation. Now she could go to jail. This is just my opinion. I think she’s a sick, a very dishonest person, but who hates our country.”
He further unleashed an attack on Somalia, stating, “She comes from a country that is essentially not even a country, Somalia. It’s a real sh**house.”
Trump’s remarks dropped after Omar, who is a vocal critic of the President, slammed him over her house in Washington being raided by officials from the Department of Justice. At the time, a person familiar with the raid told Reuters that the action was taken over concerns related to alleged immigration fraud.
However, a DOJ spokesperson said in a statement, “Today in the Washington, D.C. area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation.”
Moreover, Omar alleged that the raid was the result of smear campaigns Trump has tried to target her with over the years. She further described it as “political intimidation.”
