Patrick Schwarzenegger will star in a new crime thriller set in the world of professional tennis, directed by Blue Beetle filmmaker Ángel Manuel Soto. According to new reports, Schwarzenegger will join Leslie Grace in the upcoming thriller The Journeyman.
Deadline reported on the casting earlier this week, revealing new details about the lead characters. Schwarzenegger will play a struggling tennis pro who becomes involved in match-fixing. Grace will play his loyal fiancée.

Ángel Manuel Soto directs The Journeyman as AGC Studios backs the crime thriller
Soto is directing The Journeyman from a screenplay by the writing team known as the Roberts and Bill Dubuque. AGC Studios is producing the film, which is scheduled to begin shooting in November 2026. The studio is also known for co-producing films like Hit-Man, Desert Warrior, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Late Night with the Devil, and more. AGC Studios is also set to produce the upcoming Ana de Armas-led feature, Sweat.
Soto’s other directing credits include Charm City Kings, La Granja, and the action comedy The Wrecking Crew. Like Blue Beetle, The Journeyman will also be shot in Puerto Rico. Dev Patel was previously attached to star, but that version of the project did not move forward.
Schwarzenegger’s recent credits include the third season of The White Lotus, the first season of Gen V, and Love of Your Life. He will be next seen in Old Friends New Friends, an adaptation of Beach Read, and The Bookie & The Bruiser.
Grace was a breakout star in Lin Manuel-Miranda’s In the Heights, followed by portraying Batgirl in the DC Extended Universe. Unfortunately, the Batgirl film was shelved while in post-production. Grace has since gone on to star in In the Summers and The Thicket, along with releasing the album Amor Quien Eres?.
The Journeyman currently doesn’t have a release date.
