A source claims that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor‘s life is not what recent reports make it out to be. The news comes as the ex-prince remains under sustained public and legal scrutiny. Stripped of his titles and honors by King Charles last year, the disgraced royal moved from Windsor’s Royal Lodge to Marsh Farm on the Sandringham estate.
Source suggests former Prince Andrew is having a ‘nice time’
A source close to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is challenging recent depictions of his life since losing his royal titles. On February 19, which was his 66th birthday, King Charles’ brother was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office for allegedly sharing confidential documents with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The former prince, however, continues to maintain his innocence. He has now launched a legal challenge against Thames Valley Police and the Central Criminal Court. The case centers on the search warrants used to search his residences at Royal Lodge and Sandringham.
In a recent development, an article in The Times addressed the speculation that Andrew has been “idling away his days in misery” during the police inquiry. The report suggested that in reality, his circumstances are far from that picture.
A well-informed insider told the outlet, “Don’t believe all that poor Andy c**p. He’s having a very nice time, thank you very much. He goes out, goes shooting with friends, sees his old chums who are very loyal to him. He’s not sitting around feeling sorry for himself any more.”
Commenting on the ex-prince’s lawsuit against the police, another said, “[He] would have been seething about the indignity of being arrested on his birthday. The idea that it was vindictive.” They added, “There appears to have been a ‘something must be done’ moment where his lawyers, to appease him, will have said, ‘Don’t worry, sir, we will handle it.'”
Additionally, reports suggest that Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, visited Andrew. Many of his long-standing friends are also said to be showing support through shooting trips to Balmoral. The paper also reported that the former Duke of York is apparently “regularly” meeting friends in Norfolk.
