White House Tells ‘Big Bang Theory’ Creator to ‘Seek Psychiatric Help’

Chuck Lorre used a charity gala to turn a personal honor into a sharp attack on President Donald Trump, and the White House eventually fired back. The sitcom veteran delivered the speech at Project Angel Food on Sept. 26 after receiving the group’s Founders Angel Award, its highest honor.

Chuck Lorre’s attacks on Donald Trump and Melania Trump prompted a response from the White House

Chuck Lorre, 73, first praised Project Angel Food, which provides free meals to critically ill people in Los Angeles. Then the comedy writer dropped the restraint, saying his profession gave him an excuse to joke about waking up and checking CNN to see whether Donald Trump had suffered a heart attack (via The Daily Beast).

He also called Trump a vulgar name while describing his frustration with the administration. “I have no choice but to explain how I wake up every morning to turn on CNN to see if the president of the United States had a heart attack while straining to take a dump,” Lorre said.

Melania Trump became another target. Lorre contrasted the current first lady with Michelle Obama, describing Obama as “warm” and “funny” while characterizing Melania as “surgically enhanced” and “coldhearted.” He also claimed Melania doesn’t like Trump much, before ending the speech with a caustic reference to Trump, Russia and Jeffrey Epstein.

The administration did not answer immediately. More than a week later, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle addressed Lorre’s remarks in a statement to Fox News Digital and urged the producer to seek “psychiatric” treatment. Ingle accused Lorre of having “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and added a personal insult while condemning his comments. Ingle also said Lorre has a “peanut-sized brain.”

Long before making headlines with his political comments, Lorre had built a sizable footprint through both television and charitable giving. Loree also funded the $55.5 million Chuck Lorre Family Foundation kitchen and campus.
