Prince Harry and Meghan Markle label paparazzi spotted outside kids’ school as ‘reckless’
A spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has called international photographers spotted loitering outside Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s school gates “extraordinarily reckless.”
The official also said it was “concerning” that two paparazzi showed no regard for students’ privacy while on school premises. They went on to describe their behavior as an “unacceptable intrusion into the privacy of children.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s spokesperson stated, “The decision by photographers to conduct themselves in this way around a school is extraordinarily reckless. There is a world of difference between legitimate media activity and photographers walking the perimeter of a school, stopping to look into the grounds and monitoring children as they go about their day.”
They added, “It is concerning enough that certain European paparazzi appear unwilling to respect the privacy of children at school. But to behave in this manner in these particular circumstances, and so soon after the incident at RAF Fairford, demonstrates an extraordinary lack of judgment.”
Wrapping up, the representative said, “Whatever photographs they may have been seeking, this was not only an unacceptable intrusion into the privacy of children; it was an irresponsible and ill-considered way to conduct themselves in the vicinity of a school.”
According to the Daily Express, both private security and school staff noticed the two men. Carrying backpacks, they paused at several spots to peer into the grounds. Police initially spotted the two apart, then saw them together as they headed back to a white van. Officers later verified the van was a hire vehicle.
Additionally, investigators discovered that a foreign press photographer booked the van on his driving licence. They have since identified both individuals as photographers working for a major European picture agency.
