Donald Trump’s Team Trump account used Taylor Swift-inspired imagery in a social-media post about immigration, shortly after the singer announced her new single “Patient Zero.” The post included Swift’s song “Father Figure” and a mock CD cover featuring the phrase “And, baby, that’s sh0w business for y0u.” The account also claimed that “zero (illegals) have crossed our borders in 16+ months.”
Internet reacts to Donald Trump’s team using Taylor Swift’s new song poster
The post got attention on X, where users questioned the repeated use of Swift’s music and image by Donald Trump’s team. One user wrote, “this is scary why is he so obsessed???” Another asked, “He really thinks she’s going to give him the time of day?” and someone else added, “he wants a reaction out of her so bad.”
Others framed the fixation in comparison to Swift’s own fanbase, with one comment reading, “He is obsessed with her just as much as 95% of Stan Twitter.” Some users found humor in the trend despite disagreeing with Trump’s politics. Another user questioned Trump’s use of Swift-related imagery, writing, “no like genuinely why is HE so obsessed with her he’s literally the president of a whole f***ing country yet acts like this.”
Donald Trump’s history with Taylor Swift has included public friction, including his comment that he “hated” her after she endorsed Kamala Harris in 2024. Swift had not issued a public statement on the “Patient Zero” post at the time of writing.
