As per a royal expert, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s reaction proves they haven’t learnt anything from their mistakes yet. Notably, this comes after King Charles issued a letter via the top palace aide, Lord Chamberlain, clarifying that the Sussexes remain private individuals. The letter also reiterates that Harry and Meghan cannot carry out royal engagements or use royal titles. A royal expert has now reacted to the ongoing saga.
Expert questions Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reaction to King Charles’ letter
Royal expert Phil Dampier reportedly slammed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reaction to King Charles’ letter. Dampier berated the Sussexes in a statement to The Sun, stating that a period of silence would have been an “appropriate reaction.” “But the fact that they’ve reacted to this letter and said they were surprised by it shows they haven’t learned,” the royal expert added.
Dampier explained that Harry and Meghan should have exercised more restraint and diplomacy instead of reacting emotionally. He advised the Sussexes to change their attitude and be more “humble and co-operative” with the royal family.
Interestingly, Harry and Meghan’s representative released a statement shortly after King Charles issued a letter. The representative shared: “We were a little surprised not to have been told about this [the letter] in advance.”
Furthermore, Dampier has predicted that the Sussexes will continue with their shenanigans and use their outings to steal the spotlight from the royals. As per PEOPLE, Harry and Meghan flew privately from California to Birmingham on August 26 at around lunchtime. The couple plans on staying in the UK for an extended period of time. The Sussexes will reside in a private, non-royal home while keeping their Montecito and Portugal homes intact.
The children have been enrolled in a ritzy UK prep school, the details of which remain confidential for privacy reasons. Harry and Meghan’s sudden return to the UK reportedly blindsided the royal family. While Charles was reportedly made aware of their plan on August 16, William was reportedly left furious by the news.
