Donald Trump’s niece, Mary, has accused him of “decompensating in real time” after the president unleashed a flood of AI-generated photos on Truth Social over the weekend. The psychologist and longtime critic zeroed in on one particular post.
Mary Trump criticizes Donald Trump’s AI-generated images and calls for his removal
The particular post mentioned above is an upside-down map of Iran molded into Donald Trump’s facial profile. She cited the AI photo while alleging that her uncle was “decompensating in real time.”
“Donald is decompensating in real time—just look at the insanity he’s posted on social media today,” she wrote.
The president’s Sunday posting spree included AI-created visuals showing him trading stocks from the Resolute Desk, modeling Space Force uniforms, and dropping bombs from a space station. The Iran map, flipped with north at the bottom and rendered in orange, captured the most attention.
Donald Trump’s niece used the moment to renew her demand for his removal under the 25th Amendment, and she blamed it on Republican lawmakers. “By refusing to invoke the 25th Amendment, Republicans prove once again that they are willing to ignore the Constitution to protect him at our expense,” she said.
Mary Trump has also previously criticized her uncle’s behavior and called for his removal from office. She first called for the 25th Amendment in January 2021 during an interview with the Observer.
Her criticism came in direct response to a series of posts Trump shared publicly on Truth Social. While Mary Trump focused on the unusual nature of the AI-generated images, her broader argument centered on the 25th Amendment and her belief that Republican lawmakers should take action against the president.
After all, the president’s behavior has drawn scrutiny beyond social media. Earlier this year, Mary Trump also commented on her uncle’s close relationship with aide Natalie Harp.
