The emotional moment came before the weather forecast. As B.J. Thomas’ “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head” began playing, Rosanna struggled to hold back tears.
She apologized to viewers and explained that the song reminded her of her parents. Rosanna also thanked everyone who had reached out with messages of support after her family’s loss. The longtime anchor then tried to compose herself. She said her mother would not have wanted to see her crying during the broadcast. She also joked that Marion would have been upset if she saw the emotional moment unfold.
