Netflix has revealed when it will be releasing its Donald Trump documentary. The film, which is part of the “Instadocs” series, will premiere on the streamer later this week.
The Decoy Plane, which chronicles the elaborate measures taken to protect Donald Trump from a credible Iranian threat, will begin streaming on Netflix on September 4. The Donald Trump documentary will include exclusive interviews with reporters who were on the plane but were unaware that Trump had snuck out.

The security concerns that led to the decoy flight
Donald Trump was returning from a NATO summit in Turkey. Before leaving Turkey, it was publicly announced that he would travel back to the United States aboard an older version of Air Force One. Trump, along with members of the press, boarded the plane in full view of cameras. However, unbeknownst to the reporters, the president then exited the plane and entered a catering truck, which delivered him to a smaller C-32A military aircraft.
The C-32A is a military aircraft used to transport senior government officials, including the vice president. Pete Hegseth boarded the plane separately, helping make its departure appear routine. The military jet would then touch down in the UK, where Trump switched to the newer, Qatari-donated Air Force One, with the reporters unaware that the switch had happened.
When the switch came to light, officials said the operation had been conducted to protect the president from a credible Iranian threat. However, this raised questions about the safety of those who were left on the flight. Donald Trump faced significant backlash for the maneuver, and confirmed that those on the decoy flight could have potentially been at greater risk.
Donald Trump was next seen descending from Air Force One as if the switch had never occurred, following which he was transferred to the Qatari-donated plane, resuming his journey back to the United States.
