Prince Harry’s Reunion With King Charles Came With a ‘Glorified NDA’ — Source

Prince Harry reportedly fulfilled his condition before his reunion with King Charles. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (Meghan Markle) returned to the UK with their kids last week. According to a source, Harry was forced to sign an NDA before meeting his father.

Palace sources claim Prince Harry gave confidentiality assurances before meeting King Charles at Highgrove

According to OK!, Prince Harry is bound by a “glorified NDA” as he and his family reunited with King Charles. “The problem with Harry is that trust has never fully recovered since he stormed away from the royal family,” one palace source explained. They continued, “It was agreed any return would only happen if everyone believed private conversations would stay private.” This, according to the insider, “amounted to him being forced to sign a glorified NDA before he and Meghan met Charles.”

The source continued, “Discretion has become the price of rebuilding relationships.” Moreover, another insider shared that additional security precautions can be taken at future meetings. “Nobody wants a repeat of the last few years,” the source stated. They continued, “There is an expectation that any devices capable of recording conversations would be left outside.” The insider added that “security staff could carry out routine checks before private discussions – including frisking Harry and his family.”

The source explained the goal is to protect “confidential family conversations, not humiliating Harry.” It is also understood that Harry was searched before he met with the monarch for recording devices. “The discussion stage is essentially over when it comes to reunion meetings with him and the royals,” a source close to Harry said. They added, “He is now seen as a spy, and treated like one.”

While Charles is open to improving relations with his son, he is reportedly taking cautious steps. “There is a feeling that the family cannot go through another round of revelations from Harry,” one courtier said. Thus, an insider feels that before “meaningful reunions,” he “has to give firm assurances that he will not speak publicly about private family matters.” Another palace source explained that, after Harry’s memoir and interviews, the family is prioritizing privacy during his re-entry to avoid further damage to trust.
