According to a royal biographer, Kate Middleton reportedly shares a “very close” bond with her stepmother-in-law, Queen Camilla. The Queen Consort is “firmly on Team Kate” amid the Sussexes’ return to the UK.
Not only that, she is reportedly encouraging King Charles to keep Harry and Meghan at a distance. Interestingly, previous reports suggested that the Waleses shared a frosty equation with Camilla due to her relationship with King Charles. It is now believed that the two women have grown to share a warm bond in the royal family.

Royal biographer Andrew Lownie dished to the Daily Mail that Kate Middleton has developed a “warm” relationship with her mother-in-law, Queen Camilla. Multiple media reports have suggested in the past that the Waleses haven’t warmed up to Camilla due to the nature of her relationship with now-husband, King Charles.
As per the royal biographer, Queen Consort has urged her husband to set firm boundaries with Harry and Meghan. As per Lownie: “The Queen, who is very close to Kate, has been stiffening the resolve of the King to establish clear boundaries for [Harry and Meghan]. There remains a great deal of family dissension about the way the King has handled the Sussex problem, on top of the ‘too little, too late’ strategy on the disgraced former prince Andrew and his family.”
Queen Camilla’s decision to reportedly get close to the Princess of Wales comes as no surprise, as Harry described her in a negative light in his memoir, Spare.
Interestingly, Prince William too has expressed his alleged disapproval towards Camilla, not by words but through actions. As per a previous report by The Mirror, the future King did not bow down to his stepmother during the coronation. Most royal members bowed or curtsied to the King only.
However, Middleton curtsied to both the King and Queen. The Princess of Wales proved she does not share a strained equation with her stepmother-in-law. Body language expert Judi James noted: “Kate smiles at Camilla here before curtsying and it appears that she is still in the role of royal peace-maker here.”
