RTÉ has confirmed the new season’s release window, although an exact premiere date has not yet been announced. Production is currently underway, with Cox once again leading the cast as Michael Kinsella.
The third season will continue the story of the Kinsella family as they navigate the criminal world surrounding them. The official synopsis reads, “In the third season, as the Kinsellas consolidate power, buried betrayals and festering rivalries turn inward, and the greatest threat to the family empire becomes the family itself.”
The returning cast includes Clare Dunne as Amanda, Emmett J. Scanlan as Jimmy, Maria Doyle Kennedy as Birdy, Sam Keeley as Viking, Yasmin Seky as Nikita, and Mark McKenna Jr. as Anthony. Jack Meade will return as Wayne Madigan, while Öykü Karayel is back as Nuray Batuk. Season 3 will also feature Alex Deegan as Shelley Dunne and Diyar Bozkurt as Aslan Batuk, adding two new characters to the cast.
Kin first premiered in 2021. It follows the Kinsella family, a Dublin family that becomes involved in a violent gangland feud. Peter McKenna created the series with Ciaran Donnelly. McKenna serves as showrunner, while David McLoughlin and Samantha Thomas are the producers.
The announcement also gives Cox another returning project on his 2027 schedule. Alongside Kin, the actor is expected to continue his role as Matt Murdock in Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+.
