Created by Julian Fellowes, The Gilded Age is set in 1880s New York. The series follows the wealthy families competing for social status and influence. The official Season 4 logline reads, “Bertha Russell changed Society at a cost. Now, her family must reckon with the consequences as Agnes van Rhijn seizes an opportunity to regain her position. Meanwhile, Marian forges a new path for herself, and Peggy works to be accepted by her future in-laws. In this new era, you must be careful what you wish for.”

What do we see in The Gilded Age Season 4 trailer?

The teaser trailer opens with the aftermath of Bertha’s growing influence. Her success has changed her family’s standing, but it has also created new enemies. At the start of the trailer, Bertha says, “We are truly being tested.” She adds, “We must fight with every tool we have.” Her husband, George Russell, reminds her that she may be “the key” to their family’s survival.

Christine Baranski’s Agnes is also preparing for a comeback. She sees an opening to regain the social power she once held. The trailer hints that she will not let the chance pass easily. Agnes says, “Vengeance shall be mine.” She will take matters into her own hands, as she finds the lord “too lenient.”

The trailer also highlights the personal stories unfolding alongside the social battles. Peggy Scott, played by Denée Benton, faces the challenges as she tries to win over her future in-laws. In the trailer, she says, “I am overjoyed to be marrying into the family, but I’ll be joining as myself.”

Coon, Baranski, and Benton return alongside Cynthia Nixon, Morgan Spector, Louisa Jacobson, Taissa Farmiga, Harry Richardson, Blake Ritson, Ben Ahlers, and more. The Season 4 cast also includes new additions like Taylor Trensch, James Scully, Andrew Burnap, and Adrienne Warren.

The Gilded Age Season 4 will bring more family drama, social rivalries, and conflicts among New York’s elite. The new season premieres November 1, 2026, on HBO and HBO Max.
