Will Smith’s Supermax Adds a General Hospital Star & 3 More as Cameras Roll

The upcoming Will Smith movie Supermax continues to expand its cast and has now announced the addition of four more stars. As well as an up-and-coming General Hospital alum, the film will also now feature one of Smith’s recent co-stars, along with two other stars.

Will Smith-led Supermax adds Nicholas Alexander Chavez and more to cast

According to a report published by Deadline, Supermax has added Nicholas Alexander Chavez, known for his roles on General Hospital and Monster: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, to its cast.

The latest group of stars to join the highly anticipated project also includes Andrés Almeida, known for Bardo: False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths, Martin Bats Bradford, known for his role in Hit Man, and Erika Ringor, who shared the screen with Smith in the Oscar-winning movie King Richard. Other stars who have also been confirmed for the film include AnnaSophia Robb, Jaafar Jackson, and Jason Clarke.

Helmed by David Gordon Green, Supermax revolves around two FBI agents, played by Smith and Robb. Against all odds, the duo attempts to crack what appears to be a perfect murder inside the walls of a formidable maximum-security prison. While Amazon MGM Studios and Miramax have shared a brief synopsis of the upcoming action thriller with the public, details regarding its characters continue to remain under wraps.

David Weil and David J. Rosen have written the script for the film, and The Picture Company’s Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman are producing, along with Smith and Adam Fishbach, who represent Westbrook Studios.

In addition to penning the screenplay, Weil and Rosen will also serve as executive producers. The EP slate also features Miramax CEO Jonathan Glickman, President of Film Alexandra Loewy, COO Thom Zadra, SVP Spencer Ela, as well as Westbrook Studios’ James Lassiter and Miguel Melendez.

While Supermax does not have an official release date yet, production on the Will Smith project recently kicked off in New South Wales, Australia.
