Hello!’s royal editor Emily Nash has shared an update on Prince Harry and Prince William’s efforts to repair their relationship as the Duke of Sussex prepares to return to the UK. During a recent episode of “A Right Royal Podcast,” Nash suggested that a reconciliation between the brothers could be a “long time waiting.”
She also explained that they may take things slowly, revealing what the Waleses are currently prioritizing. “From people I’ve been speaking to who know them, I think they’re very much working on the basis of let’s get the children settled, let’s get started on what we want to do, and then the rest is something to consider down the line,” she said.
Nash also emphasized the importance of Harry’s improving relationship with King Charles. “You can’t go any higher than him. And if you have him on side and you are spending time with him, then that does half of the work for you,” she elaborated.
The update comes after a source told PEOPLE that Harry’s return to the UK could give him the “best opportunity” to repair his relationship with William. “It would never happen with him in America. This gives them the opportunity to try and mend that bridge,” they added.
However, a source close to Harry previously claimed that the brothers’ relationship remains “distant,” with the pair still having no contact. While Harry’s relationship with King Charles has reportedly become “better,” the source said there has been little progress between the brothers. “I thought it would have perhaps eased a little bit by now, to be honest. But there has been no movement, especially on William’s side,” the source said in July.
