Prince Harry’s Kids Play a Key Role in Carrying Forward Princess Diana’s Legacy — Report

Prince Harry‘s latest charitable move is reportedly becoming a family affair. According to a new report, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have been given a unique opportunity to take part in one of their father’s conservation efforts. The initiative helps strengthen their connection to Botswana while honoring Princess Diana’s enduring legacy.

Prince Harry’s kids reportedly make a big gesture to his charity move amid drama

According to The Telegraph, Prince Harry’s kids have each received an invitation to name an elephant in Botswana’s Okavango Delta. Elephants Without Borders fitted the animals with satellite-tracking collars using funds from Harry’s charitable donation.

The report states that Archie chose a blue tracking collar for his elephant, while Lilibet selected a purple one. The collars were provided to Elephants Without Borders. The Botswana-based conservation organization works to monitor and protect the country’s elephant population.

Dr. Mike Chase, founder of the charity, told The Telegraph that Harry has long been passionate about Botswana and its wildlife. “The Duke has a very strong passion for the Okavango Delta, Botswana, its people, and its wildlife,” Chase said.

He added that involving the Duke of Duchess’s kids in the project was intentional. “We wanted to pass on that legacy to the kids, in the hope that his passion for Okavango and Botswana would rub off on them, and to allow them to monitor the elephants in real time across the world,” Chase explained.

According to the report, the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund redirected Prince Harry’s charity allocation to Elephants Without Borders. Harry’s share of the proceeds had previously gone to Sentebale, the charity he co-founded to support children affected by HIV/AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana. However, the report says his 2025 allocation was instead donated to the wildlife conservation group.

The decision follows Harry’s highly publicized departure from Sentebale earlier this year amid an ongoing dispute within the organization. The Duke of Sussex also became involved in legal proceedings after resigning from the charity. However, those matters remain separate from the elephant conservation initiative.

The report also noted a royal parallel involving Prince William’s children. Earlier this year, Australia Zoo invited Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to name a baby kangaroo. They chose the Welsh word “Cwtch,” which means “cuddle.”

For Harry, the latest initiative appears to combine two causes close to his heart: conservation and family. It also gives Archie and Lilibet a chance to participate in a project tied to both Prince Harry’s charity work and Princess Diana’s legacy.
