Rosie O’Donnell addressed Donald Trump directly during her first night guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week
During a monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, O’Donnell was certain that Trump was watching. Therefore, she sent him a personal greeting on-air. “Hi! I know you’re watching,” she said while momentarily stopping the topic she was speaking about. She didn’t stop here but also referred to him as “Mango Mussolini.” She later revealed why she decided to move away from the US and start a life in Ireland.
She revealed that her son, Clay, now goes to school in Ireland. She added that they decided to relocate from the US “because the president of the United States hates my mother, but, in all fairness, I believe my mother hates him more.”
She also touched on safety concerns in the US before expressing appreciation for the country she now lives in. She deemed the people of Ireland the “kindest” she had ever met. However, she promised to return to her homeland soon.
Calling out the POTUS once again, she quipped that he’s “in the White House crying because I haven’t mentioned him.” Additionally, she joked that things seem to have changed since she last hosted a TV show, which was three decades ago.
Making a subtle comparison between the past and present political and global scenarios, she said, “Well, back then, there was a war in the Middle East, climate change was ravaging out planet, and we had a president who was embroiled in scandals. but today, everything is so chill.”
Stating what viewers could expect from her time at the show, she added, “If you thought the president hated Jimmy Kimmel Live when it was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, buckle up!”
