King Charles at the ‘End of His Tether’ With Prince Harry — Expert

An expert highlighted the relationship between Prince Harry and King Charles, claiming that the monarch is at the “end of his tether” with his youngest son. In the latest episode of “Palace Confidential”, host and Daily Mail senior editor Richard Kay sat down with columnist Sarah Vine and diary editor Richard Eden. They discussed several royal matters, including Charles and Harry’s relationship. Vine claimed that the monarch has seemingly run out of patience with son Harry, whom she accused of having behaved badly.

Expert dishes on King Charles and Prince Harry’s current relationship

An expert has weighed in on the relationship between King Charles and Prince Harry during a recent episode of Palace Confidential. Richard Kay, senior editor of the Daily Mail, recently spoke with Sarah Vine and Richard Eden. During the segment, Kay mentioned that they had polled their Palace Confidential newsletter subscribers about the upcoming Invictus Games. They asked whether Charles should attend the Invictus Games 2026 if Harry invited him.

According to the poll, 67% of respondents said the monarch should not accept the invitation, while 8% said he should. Others suggested that Charles should wait and see what Harry does next before making a decision.

Vine said the poll was largely in line with what she believes the King thinks, claiming that he is at the “end of his tether” with Harry. She added, “I think he feels that he’s just been so difficult and so badly behaved and also so rude to the Queen. I know that there’s a sense there that he is on eggshells with his father.”

When the host asked whether there was a specific incident that led her to this conclusion, Vine said it was “cumulative.” According to her, Charles has tried several times to mend the relationship, but “every time he wants to build a bridge, there’s a leak.”

She claimed that the Sussexes say they will do one thing but then do something else. Recalling the latest situation, she noted that Harry and Meghan Markle initially said they would come to the UK with their children, before it was later reported that Meghan and the children would not accompany Harry. Vine described the situation as “drama,” adding that the King is no longer willing to put up with what she called “shenanigans.”
