According to a royal correspondent, Prince William may soon be unable to ignore Prince Harry’s return to Britain. The claim arrives as relations between the brothers remain strained after the Sussexes’ criticism of the royal family.
The Prince of Wales has reportedly maintained complete silence and has refused to speak to his younger brother since the release of Harry’s explosive memoir, “Spare,” back in 2023.
Jennie Bond says Prince Harry’s visits could change the circumstances surrounding the brothers’ feud
Prince William could find it harder to ignore Prince Harry’s appeals for reconciliation. The royal heir has remained silent for years as Harry reached out to his family, but he may now need to address his younger brother’s olive branch.
According to royal correspondent Jennie Bond speaking to the Mirror, “William, as far as we can see, seems set on concentrating on his own family and his work without the angst of dealing with his rift with Harry. But, if Harry does start to come to the UK more often and to see their father, it’s going to become increasingly hard for William to ignore the situation.”
Bond also explored if Princess Catherine could step in as a peacemaker. Perhaps, but only if she felt it aligned with Prince William’s wishes. Still, feelings and circumstances can shift over time, so as she put it, “never say never.”
“But when you think about the things he has said in public about his brother, he [Harry] has to remember that if you wash your dirty linen in public, and it was pretty dirty linen, then you shouldn’t expect the fees for your laundry to be met,” explained the royal expert, per The News International.
However, there are tentative signs that Prince Harry’s relationship with King Charles is improving, after the pair met privately at Highgrove in July.
Reports also indicate that the King invited the Sussexes to Balmoral this summer and offered accommodation at Buckingham Palace for the Duke’s forthcoming visit. As for the estranged siblings, it remains unclear if they will meet during Harry’s September trip.
