Meghan Markle’s MasterChef Call With Prince Harry Was ‘Staged’, Claims Chef

Meghan Markle‘s candid moment with Prince Harry is getting trolled. The Duchess of Sussex made a guest appearance on MasterChef Australia. The episode was shot in April during her and Harry’s visit to Australia. During the episode, she received a surprise video call from her husband. However, celebrity chef Jameson Stock criticized this moment, calling it “staged.”

Jameson Stock calls out Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s call

In his interview with News International, Jameson Stock mocked Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s FaceTime on MasterChef Australia. “Firstly, if you’re on an open set, people generally don’t have their phones readily to hand,” Stocks commented.

He continued, “This was clearly staged and prearranged, much like her contrived television programme—there was no authenticity or genuine spontaneity.” Stocks added, “Stuff like this I find extremely cringeworthy.”

In that moment, the judges and contestants were surprised by Harry’s video call. “Hi, my love! My husband’s here,” Meghan said as the judges waved at the prince. “What’s going on? Have I interrupted something important?” Harry stated. The Duchess of Sussex answered, “Well, we are actually in the middle of tasting all the dishes.”

She further added, “We have four incredible cooks here. It’s amazing, they’re so talented. We wish you were here.” Further, Harry said, “Well, go and enjoy it. I’m very sorry to disturb you. All is well here. I’ll see you later.”

Besides the video call, Stocks commented on Meghan’s rumored rift with MasterChef judge Poh Ling Leow. “Meghan seems to clash with people who, from an outsider’s perspective, make her feel unimportant,” he said.

Stocks added, “Based on how people close to her treated me, I understand the methods used and the way others can be made to feel. If Meghan felt that strongly about the situation, the producers would have edited it out.”

The chef also felt the “Suits” alum‘s position keeps changing as “one day she wants to be a royal, and the next she does not.” He explained that one day she demands privacy and another day she wants photos with her kids. “She needs to get a grip,” Stocks said.
