Ben Affleck says he eats a lot of McDonald’s
Ben Affleck tested his trivia chops on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, and his knowledge of fast food actually helped him out.
Season 5 of the ABC game show kicked off on Wednesday, July 22. The premiere featured Larry David playing alongside his daughter, Cazzie David. Affleck also joined in, teaming up with Jeopardy! winner Jamie Ding.
The pair went head-to-head for a chance to win $1 million for Affleck’s Eastern Congo Initiative. When Jimmy Kimmel introduced Ding, he mentioned Ken Jennings, the last Jeopardy! champion.
Super champion on the show, who won a large prize alongside Matt Damon. The late-night host then joked with Ding, saying he had a “better partner who also happens to be Matt’s partner, correct?”
Jimmy Kimmel welcomed Ben Affleck to the stage with, “Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome that demon Matt Damon’s much-better half,” a nod to their well-known friendship. The “Deep Water” actor joked that he’d be leaning on Ding all night, saying he’d let his partner take the lead, per PEOPLE.
Later in the game, the prompt for question 10 was, “Unless you specifically ask for more, which McDonald’s sandwich is served with half a slice of cheese?
The options given were McRib, McCrispy, Filet-O-Fish, and Big Mac. It was then that Affleck confessed, “I eat a lot of McDonald’s — like a lot. All the time.” However, the duo still couldn’t decide and asked the audience instead. The crowd voted, and “Filet-O-Fish” led the results.
“I feel like that was sort of what I was going toward,” said the 53-year-old. “What about you?” To that, Jamie Ding replied, “Same. That was where I was going.” They locked in Filet-O-Fish, and it was correct, earning them $32,000.
