She said, “I remember I was in ripped jeans and barefoot.” Then, she added, “I was a hugger.” The duchess said she “didn’t realise” that approach was “jarring for a lot of Brits.” The report framed that dinner as an early sign of different expectations.
Meanwhile, the article revisited how the “Suits” alum later came to understand the formality of royal spaces. She said there was “a forward-facing way of being.” Behind closed doors, she expected people to say, “I can relax now.” However, she added that “formality carries over on both sides.” For context, HelloMagazine said the royal women were often reportedly at odds.
