Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai has revealed that she is “staying out of politics” and instead focusing on her passion: golf. Reporters quizzed Kai about her grandfather’s career in politics and the political world in general on the red carpet at the 2026 ESPY Awards on Wednesday, July 15. However, the 19-year-old made it clear that politics was not meant for her.

Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai declared that politics is not her cup of tea at the ESPY red carpet event. The avid golfer stunned at the event in a full-length shimmering gold dress with a thigh-high slit and pointed stilettos. Kai let her wavy hair cascade down her shoulders as she paired the outfit with a necklace and a bracelet. She smiled for the cameras and even answered reporters’ tough questions.
The 19-year-old replied, “I kind of stay out of politics completely. It’s just not my thing.” She further elaborated on her choice of “showing my life and showing how…you can still be an athlete and you can still do a ton of other things. Enjoy a ton of other things.” She further stated that she enjoys reflecting on her progress “through college eventually, but obviously how I got to where I am today.”
The reporter further asked, “I think your grandfather has done a very good job with America 250, especially integrating it with sports. I saw you were there at the UFC event at the White House. What do you think of, obviously, the integration with politics but also sports?”
Kai reiterated that she chooses to “stay away out of politics completely. It’s just not my thing.” Yet, she spoke highly of the UFC event, adding, “it was really cool being there and especially having veterans in the stadium as well.”
