As seen in a clip shared by Hello Magazine, Prince William and his teammates tasked Kate Middleton with presenting them with the charity match trophy. However, as soon as a teammate of Prince William lifted the cup, the trophy, made of several parts, appeared to become imbalanced and begin to fall apart. Just as it appeared the trophy’s top was about to fall off, Kate came to the team’s rescue and helped steady it. Prince William, who was standing right beside his wife, reacted to the awkward moment by seemingly holding his face in embarrassment, before joining in the proceedings.
Users on social media not only saw the funny side of the incident but also praised the Princess of Wales for her quick response. “Catherine wasn’t caught off guard, she just saved the day and the man’s blushes for nearly dropping the trophy,” wrote one user.
