Justin Baldoni Breaks Silence, Turns Blake Lively Legal War Into an ‘Injustice’ Claim

Justin Baldoni and his wife Emily have finally opened up about the Blake Lively and It Ends with Us legal battle. In a video, the couple claimed that they endured “injustice” and “pain” in the last few years. It Ends with Us, a romance drama film that explores themes of physical and emotional abuse, came out in August 2024. Reports of a conflict between Baldoni and Lively first surfaced before the movie’s release. This was followed by a series of highly publicized feuds and extensive litigation. Eventually, the disputes came to an end when Baldoni and Lively settled out of court.

Baldoni and Emily took to Instagram to break their almost two-year silence on the controversy. “So we have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years, and it’s not because we haven’t had anything to say,” Baldoni began in the nearly five-minute-long video. “Because Lord knows we have, but it just felt like every time we went to make a video like this, we wanted to speak, something was telling us not to. It just didn’t feel like the right time, and we were talking about it and feeling into it and praying about it.”

Emily then noted, “This feels like the moment,” adding, “There’s so much to say.” The couple made it clear that they would not speak about everything in the video. Instead, Emily spoke about the “immense gratitude for… so many people and so many things that have happened to us.” Baldoni added, “Gratitude has saved us.”

However, Emily also mentioned that the gratitude didn’t “negate the injustice and the pain that we have also felt in the last few years.” She continued, “We’ve had to wrestle with so many things and try to understand so many things, like how could something like this even happen? Let alone disguised as a fight for women.”

The pair also discussed how traumatic the experience was for them and their family before stating that they were “healing.” They said that they didn’t want to “add to the noise” despite people speaking “so many painful things… into existence” and “let the justice system run its course.”

Baldoni and Emily asserted that their faith and their loved ones got them through the controversy and thanked their supporters for their “discernment.”
