King Charles’ Tank Ride Came as Prince Harry Faced Fresh Royal Drama

King Charles recently visited the Tank Museum in Bovington, southwestern England. He traveled in the oldest operational vehicle in the museum’s collection, which was previously used by Queen Elizabeth II in 1997. The King’s visit comes amid another development surrounding Prince Harry‘s UK trip, with reports claiming that his royal accommodation was withdrawn.

King Charles carried out military duties as Prince Harry visits UK

On Monday, July 6, King Charles visited the Royal Tank Regiment’s Families’ Day celebrations at the Tank Museum. The King used a 1920 Pattern Rolls-Royce armored car for his travels. Firstly, he headed into the museum, greeting the staff and conversing with four of the RTR’s former colonels-commandant. During his visit, he learned about many ongoing military innovations, including the Challenger 3 Main Battle Tank and 3D-printed equipment.

After going outside, the monarch presented medals to the soldiers before heading to meet their family and friends. During this trip, he also tried out the ride on the Challenger 3 Main Battle Tank.

King Charles’ visit comes amid Prince Harry’s visit to the UK, which has seen a new development following the security concerns drama. Ahead of King’s visit to Bovington, a spokesperson for the Prince claimed that he won’t be staying at Buckingham Palace, as the offer has been withdrawn despite having accepted it earlier.

They said it’s “disappointing” that the offer didn’t go through, while also noting that Prince Harry was busy with security arrangements for himself and his family. Following that, he accepted the royal accommodation offer. Palace sources, however, argue that Harry didn’t accept the offer by the deadline provided to him. They added that although the request was made later, it was too late to make the accommodation arrangements (via PEOPLE).

Earlier, a source claimed that the Duke of Sussex was upset over not being granted tax-funded security. This is because the royalty only granted him security during his stay at the royal household, not beyond that.
