Celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner had one last shot in his arsenal against President Donald Trump before his tragic passing in December 2025. In a recently released sketch, proven to be his final appearance in front of the camera, Reiner ridiculed the Republican Party leader by impersonating George Washington, with help from long term Trump detractor Jimmy Kimmel.
Rob Reiner targeted Donald Trump in his final role
The July 3 episode of HBO’s Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness featured a posthumous appearance from Rob Reiner. In it, the “Princess Bride” director enacted the first president of the country.
The sketch, towards the end of the episode, saw Rob Reiner make fun of Donald Trump without even naming him. Dressed as Washington, Reiner announced in a speech that he would not be running for office for a third time and that Congress should pass an amendment to limit presidents to two terms.
A man in the crowd, played by Larry David, soon interrupts him to question what would happen if a “narcissistic prick” refuses to follow the law in the future.
“Rest assured, even if this future president violated the Constitution, then the Congress of the United States, and the United States Supreme Court, would not allow it,” Reiner’s Washington replies. David’s bystander then asks how things would unfold if the Supreme Court comprised “a bunch of yes men” and the administration cared “more about party than country.”
“I can’t even fathom the existence of such men,” responded Washington. Adding to Rob Reiner’s subtle dig at Donald Trump, David said, “Anyone who wouldn’t accept the results of a free and fair election is a sociopath!”
Following David’s rant on this ‘hypothetical’ president, another onlooker, played by Jimmy Kimmel, replies, “Come on, that could never happen! Are you suggesting that the president would taketh the time to challenge anyone who dare make fun of him? As if he were a big baby? I don’t see it.”
As the crowd grew more restless, Washington assured that “a man of such poor character would never be elected president in the first place.” However, his words did little to calm the audience, with the episode ending in a brawl.
