News of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s expected U.K. visit has been welcomed in some royal circles. However, as per insiders, Kate Middleton is approaching the development with far more caution. Sources claim she wants to support King Charles’ efforts to heal the family divide, but she is reportedly unwilling to ignore the history between herself and Markle. As speculation grows over a possible reunion, the princess is said to be standing firm on where she draws the line.

Kate Middleton is allegedly finding herself caught between supporting King Charles’ hopes for reconciliation and standing by Prince William. The reported visit by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is said to have reopened discussions within the Royal Family. That said, insiders claim Middleton remains unconvinced that Markle’s return will help repair relationships.
One source alleged that Middleton genuinely wants Harry to reconnect with his father. They also claimed she would welcome progress within the family. However, the insider insisted Markle’s involvement makes that far more difficult. “Kate is an incredibly forgiving person,” the source said (via Closer).
Even so, the insider claimed “there has been so much hurt stirred up over the years by Meghan” that moving forward isn’t something Middleton believes can happen overnight. According to the same source, she still has “a soft spot” for Harry, but “it’s Meghan’s involvement that changes the dynamic completely.”
At the same time, Middleton is also reportedly trying to support William. Another insider alleged that the Prince of Wales remains firmly opposed to welcoming Markle back into the royal fold. The source claimed William feels deeply let down by the king’s apparent willingness to accommodate the Sussexes during their visit.
“William is so against the whole idea,” the insider suggested. They added that Middleton “can’t simply ignore his feelings” because she has witnessed firsthand how much the royal rift has affected him over the years. As per the source, she is also worried about the stress the situation could place on William if the visit goes ahead.
Meanwhile, another claim suggested Middleton had been hoping for a more private opportunity to mend the relationship between the brothers. The insider alleged she envisioned Harry returning alone, giving them space for a “heart-to-heart” away from public attention. However, they claimed, “That won’t happen now, not with Meghan watching over.” Consequently, the insider believed Middleton’s hopes for meaningful progress have become much slimmer.
