Prince Harry‘s frequent trips to the United Kingdom have reportedly become a growing point of concern within his household. A new report claims that Meghan Markle wants the Duke of Sussex to scale back his travel expenses and adopt a more cautious approach to spending.
Meghan Markle doesn’t see any point in Prince Harry spending money on UK travel, claims source
Prince Harry is expected to return to the U.K. later this year for events related to the Invictus Games, while his wife, Meghan Markle, is also expected to visit Britain for the first time in nearly four years. However, according to an insider, Markle believes the repeated trips have become increasingly expensive without delivering results.
“She’s also pushing Harry to cut way back on his travel to the U.K.,” a source told Closer Online. “Her argument is that the bills are huge and there’s nothing to show for it. She doesn’t see the point in Harry spending a ton of money to kiss up to people who constantly let him down.”
The insider alleged that the duchess feels they should focus their financial resources elsewhere instead of funding frequent overseas visits. According to the same source, Markle is also encouraging Harry to rethink several of his spending habits beyond travel. The insider claimed private jet travel is no longer part of the couple’s plans because it no longer fits their budget.
The source also alleged that Markle has urged Harry to be more mindful with everyday spending, including his reportedly generous tipping habits and willingness to lend money to friends. “Harry is a very generous guy. He loves to leave outrageous tips, and he’ll lend money to friends no questions asked, but Meghan’s putting the kibosh on all of that. From now on he’s under strict orders to think twice before he opens his wallet.”
The reported financial concerns come as the Sussexes prepare for their upcoming U.K. visit, which has also sparked speculation about a possible new Netflix project.
