It is claimed that Kate Middleton has been encouraging Prince William to meet Prince Harry during the Duke of Sussex’s reported visit to Britain later this month. The visit could also give King Charles a chance to see his youngest grandchildren for the first time in years. However, no one has officially announced a family reunion.
Even so, insiders suggest Middleton sees the trip as an opportunity that may not come around again anytime soon. “At this time, William is not planning to be there, but things could change,” an insider told Us Weekly. The source went on to claim that Middleton has been “trying to convince William to meet with Harry, Meghan and the kids.”
According to the report, Middleton’s motivation extends beyond repairing the relationship between the brothers. She also reportedly wants to spend time with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, whom she has rarely had the chance to see. “These opportunities to see Archie and Lilibet haven’t happened before,” the insider said. The source added that the family is “trying to make this work because the opportunities are so limited.”
Still, the publication suggests Middleton is not forcing the issue. Instead, she is reportedly leaving the final decision to William. “She is hoping that William will show up, but she will respect his decision,” the insider claimed.
Meanwhile, reports widely speculate that William remains “hesitant” about any reunion. The source alleged that a meeting would only take place “when he’s ready.” They added that Harry’s decision to travel with Meghan and their children reportedly caught the family by surprise. As a result, the insider suggested William may need more time before agreeing to meet.
Harry and William have remained largely estranged since the Sussexes stepped back from royal duties in 2020. Their last public appearance together was at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022.
