An unconfirmed surprise TV plan for Prince Harry is making news as speculation over a UK trip intensifies. The buzz comes as the Sussex family considers bringing Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, to Britain in July. However, the visit remains in doubt following the denial of Harry’s bid for police protection funded by taxpayers.
Prince Harry eyeing a TV appearance amid UK trip
As talk of a UK trip intensifies, sources suggest that Prince Harry may be planning a high-profile television moment.
According to the Daily Express, James Corden confirmed that the Duke of Sussex will join him on “After Hours” within days. The announcement came on the show, which features the former “Late Late Show” host in conversation with football players discussing the FIFA World Cup.
Footage from the latest episode shows Corden and guests, including ex-England defender Rio Ferdinand, debating a ranking of notable figures called Harry, featuring both Prince Harry and Harry Potter. The comedian then noted, “Prince Harry is coming on the show in a few weeks’ time, and we’ll discuss this,” referring to the list of famous people who share his name.
Corden’s comments arrive shortly after a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a strongly worded statement amid ongoing rumors about the couple’s planned UK visit.
“Prince Harry’s program in the United Kingdom includes both public and private engagements across the country. Safe accommodation is only one element of an effective protective security plan because risk follows the person, not the place, ” the Prince’s spokesperson said in a statement shared with PEOPLE.
“The issue has never been accommodation. The issue is whether appropriate and proportionate protective security is being provided throughout the entirety of the visit. The independent Risk Management Board that RAVEC itself decided was necessary last November has still not taken place. It is therefore difficult to understand how the proportionality of the current arrangements can credibly be maintained without that independent assessment,” they added.
The upcoming appearance continues Prince Harry’s on-screen partnership with James Corden, following the Duke’s earlier guest spot on The Late Late Show in the US.
