Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Vacationing With Kids Ahead of UK Trip — Report

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly enjoying a getaway with their kids ahead of their upcoming UK trip. The Sussexes are expected in Birmingham next month for “one-year-to-go” events promoting the 2027 Invictus Games. Since stepping back from senior royal duties in 2020 and relocating to Montecito, California, Prince Harry has made several solo visits to Britain. However, the Duchess’ last trip was for the late Queen’s funeral in September 2022.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly on a vacation with kids in Europe

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly savoring a private European summer escape with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet before their official UK commitments.

The family trip follows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s confirmation of their upcoming visit on Friday, June 26. Although Prince Harry and Markle have public engagements scheduled, their children won’t be part of any official appearances.

On Saturday, The Telegraph stated that the Prince was rethinking the visit after his request for taxpayer-funded police protection was turned down. However, PEOPLE reported that the Sussexes are still moving forward with the plans they outlined Friday.

Security remains a top issue for the Duke of Sussex. Prince Harry has said that he can’t imagine bringing his family to the UK without proper security. A source, however, revealed that RAVEC still hasn’t completed its long-promised Risk Management Board review of his protection.

Next month’s visit would be Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet’s, 5, first time back since the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. Without taxpayer-funded police protection since 2020, the family has no public security in the UK except at royal residences.

On June 19, Buckingham Palace said that King Charles has offered his younger son’s family a place to stay on a royal estate during the visit. Staying at one of the King’s estates would give the Sussexes access to that property’s existing security. That said, the family intends to use both royal properties and private rentals during the visit.
