Scream Meets Prom Night & Other Classic Slashers in You’re Dead to Me Horror Movie Trailer

A new trailer for the upcoming You’re Dead to Me has been released. This trailer is a blend of the iconic Scream movie in a Prom Night setting, paying homage to classic slasher movies.

The official logline reads, “Three high school seniors skip prom for a secluded weekend party free from parents, school, and responsibility, but their escape turns terrifying when they learn one of their classmates has been brutally murdered.”

What do we see in the You’re Dead to Me trailer?

The trailer opens with a high school student getting ready for prom before answering a suspicious phone call. The call is followed by the brutal murder of one of the student’s friends. This sets off a series of deadly events, giving the film a tone reminiscent of the Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer franchises.

The upcoming Gen Z slasher movie was originally titled What She Doesn’t Know and had its world premiere at FrightFest 2025. Juan Pablo Arias Munoz, known for directing Pumpkinhole and Beginning of Tomorrow, serves as the director. It is co-written by Sarah Howard and Terry Castle. Howard is known for writing the 2026 romantic comedy 40 Dates and 40 Nights. Castle is the daughter of William Castle, who is known for producing House on Haunted Hill and THIR13EN Ghosts.

The cast includes Denise Richards (Valentine and Starship Troopers), Siena Agudong (Sidelined: The QB and Me and Sidelined 2: Intercepted), Jessica Belkin (Elle), Ella Anderson (Henry Danger and Song Sung Blue), and Conor Husting (Boo, Bitch and Hollywood Stargirl).

The supporting cast also includes Johanna Braddy, Haley Grace, Phoebe Holden, Kathryn Howard, Jay Walker, and Maria Zhang.

This movie will be released digitally and on demand by Dark Star Pictures on July 7, 2026.
