Donald Trump Says No Women at UFC Event Was ‘Nice’

President Donald Trump rejoiced over the fact that there were very few women at the White House’s UFC Freedom 250 event. The President, known for his controversial takes, made this remark during a speech on Tuesday in Macungie, Pennsylvania. The event itself saw its share of controversy when UFC Fighter Josh Hokit made a vile remark about former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Donald Trump praises muscular men in the crowd during speech

President Donald Trump recently commented on the smaller number of women at the White House’s UFC Freedom 250 event. Speaking during a speech on Tuesday in Macungie, Pennsylvania, the 80-year-old President remarked that there were fewer women in the crowd and a lot of “muscular men.”

“I mean, these are the strongest, toughest men on Earth,” (via CNBC Television), referring to the UFC fighters. He added, “No women in the crowd, which is nice. But these are the toughest men on Earth, and it’s tremendous pressure.”

The President continued speaking about the athletes and their physiques.

“And you know, the muscles, you got the muscles, you guys, you got the big strong muscles, but you got this muscle, too,” he said, gesturing toward his brain. “Because it takes much more than just the normal muscle to win those matches.”

Trump‘s remarks came after UFC fighter Josh Hokit faced widespread criticism for referring to former First Lady Michelle Obama as “a man” following his win at the event. Hokit received criticism across social media and in news coverage. Trump has not publicly commented on Hokit’s remark.

Barack Obama and Michelle Obama did not publicly respond to the remark. Instead, they focused on the opening of the Barack Obama Presidential Center in Chicago’s historic Jackson Park.

Josh Hokit has also not publicly apologized for his remark.
