As per reports, Prince Harry might pay a private visit to his late mother, Princess Diana’s gravesite. The Duke of Sussex is expected to visit the UK along with Meghan Markle and his kids next month. While the dates have been kept under wraps, Diana’s ancestral home, Althorp House, announced an unusual closure to the public. This puts focus on the couple’s UK visit date.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s UK visit dates are raising eyebrows
Prince Harry will reportedly visit the UK next month with Meghan Markle and his kids. This is to mark the one-year countdown to the Birmingham Invictus Games. Their itinerary is still under wraps. However, as per reports, the couple might visit Princess Diana’s gravesite with their kids, Archie and Lilibet, for them to know their grandmother.
Diana’s gravesite is at her ancestral home, Althorp House. The 14,000-acre estate is usually open to visitors. However, as per RadarOnline, visitors won’t have access on July 10 and 11, which fuels rumors that the Sussexes are planning a private visit during that time.
As per Althorp’s home page, an announcement says that its summer opening for tours begins on July 1 and will run through 31 August 26. Visitors are welcome to explore the “pictures, furniture, ceramics and fine interiors.” However, it is also mentioned that they are “closed 10th & 11th July.” This matches with the time the Sussexes might be in the UK for the Invictus Games countdown.
Apart from this, it’s also been reported that the Sussexes are planning to bring a camera crew along to capture their high-profile visit for a potential new Netflix project. Moreover, they might also document their visit to the gravesite. This will be possible only if Harry’s uncle (Diana’s brother), Charles Spencer, who controls the filming at Althorp, gives his permission. The Althorp House has been with the Spencer family for more than 500 years.
