US officials give updates on JD Vance’s Iran talks
After reports emerged about the Prime Minister of Qatar snubbing the US Vice President, an official involved with the US-Iran peace negotiations has clarified that this was not at all the case.
Asserting that the claims were “foreign propaganda” originated by Iranian state media, the official claimed that JD Vance made “great progress” in the talks.
“The Vice President and the US delegation departed Switzerland today after making great progress and engaging in historic talks that lasted well into the late hours over the weekend,” the US Official said to Fox News Digital. “The negotiations set the framework for continued talks so that the unmatched efforts of the president can lead to a deal that’s best for the American people.”
The official further explained about the earlier reports. “Those parroting foreign propaganda serve no one except the bad faith actors that want to derail negotiations,” they stated.
“The U.S. delegation had just spent hours with the Qataris, and there was no need to re-greet someone having just spent hours with,” another official explained about the perceived snub. “The decision to give statements together before the meeting was done impromptu, which is why it wasn’t a staged greeting.”
Meanwhile, in an interview with Al Jazeera, Qatar PM Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani denied snubbing JD Vance. Instead, he blamed the media for blowing things out of proportion, adding, “And they just made the issue too big.”
Even with no final deal, the approaching Iran-US peace agreement has already reduced oil prices and helped stock markets. Nevertheless, the news of a final deal is expected soon.
